Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson Get Weird in Austin
Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson sure know how to rock the house! On September 18th, both commanded the Austin stage with brilliant light shows and stellar performances.
Kelly came out first wearing a lilac dress and opening her set with her powerhouse song “Stronger.” And damn that girl’s got some good pipes! While I thought she could have worked the stage a little bit better, it was impossible not to sing along (badly). It was clear that I am no Kelly Clarkson.
Kelly’s personality really shined through during her address to the audience. She gushed about her fiance, thanked us all for attending the concert, and offered a fan some water when they looked a bit dehydrated. Kelly also managed to call herself out for cussing in front of all the kiddos in the audience. She then proceeded to say, “at least I’m not naked on a Wrecking Ball. I’m not saying she didn’t look good, but I was like WHAT?” (referencing Miley Cyrus’ latest music video). Overall, Kelly Clarkson proved to be dorky, caring, and very down to earth making fans love her even more!
Then came the moment that turned the “I want Adam!” chants (because who doesn’t want Adam) into endless screams of joy and excitement – Maroon 5 took the stage with their hit “This Love.” The band sounded amazing as they sang a range of songs from their career enticing us all to dance, sing, and drool.
Lead singer Adam Levine truly plays to the audience demanding their full attention. His moves like Jagger made us all scream a little bit louder and drool a little bit more. Adam made one front row fan even happier by giving her an electric guitar turning the rest of the audience green with envy (as they calculated the ninja moves required to both grab the guitar and jump Adam).
Despite the fact that Adam didn’t present me with a guitar (or his hand in marriage), the concert was AMAZING! He was worth the hearing loss, sore throat, and getting hot and sweaty. 😉 Check out some more pics of my night with Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson on my Facebook page.
